Chapel Mass At SJH

yesterday morning i attended the Chapel mass at my workplace. their mass started at 9am and it ended at 9:30am. then went i entered the chapel, i saw some of my work collegues
and other nursing staff at the mini choir.
because every sun morning, some of them will do the reading,singing
and do the offertery items with one resident. when i sat down on the chair, then
Catherine ask me to do the offertery item with Cecelia, the nursing staff and one of
the resident.

This is my 1st time doing the offertery items to the Priest. so after the singing, i took the bottle of wine and Cecelia ask one of the resident to hold another item in their hand, after giving them,
we take a bow and we walk and push the resident back to their place.

so after the mass, we went to the jumble sale and Catherine and ginell went to see some more items that they want to buy. after they bought their things, we went for lunch, they cater the food from outside. after lunch, we went out.

I ask my mother to bring home my bag and i put my wallet at the back of my jeans. so we took bus 157 to jurong point, reached there, then ginell want to the singapore post to sent letter. after that,we walk outside to wait for the IMM Shuttle Bus. we went IMM to shop and eat. after eating, we went Daiso and Giant to buy something. ginell and Catherine took the shuttle bus back to boonlay and i took the shuttle bus to jurong east and went home after that. reached home at 4:10pm.

Report on Eldercare: Dementia

there will be a meeting with our physio supervisior.
we will be giving a presentation about eldercare: Dementia.
only me and ginell will be doing the presentation.
must relax and study hard for 2morow.
I CAN DO IT !!!!!!
i will be asking my work collegues some questions.
in the afternoon, we will be having snack preparation
with the resident's.
after 2morow, there will be jumble sale at SJH.
it will be at Cyril Chew Hall.
the jumble sale will be from 25th April to 27th April 2008.
I will go out with my work collegues on 27th April.
we will go Lucky Plaza and then to Sg Botanic Garden.
at night i need to go to the restaurant to taste the food
for my 2nd sister wedding in june.

Warm Tuessay

In The morning, took train to bukit batok and
then took bus service 157 to work. the sky looks dark
but never rain. only rain in when i was still sleeping.
i leave my house at 6:30am but i reached my workplace
at 7:45an, the bus today slow.
reached my workplace and i change into my work uniform.
finished all the resident's morning exercise
rest a while, help Catherine to peel the hard boiled eggs
because they need for thur snack preparation for the resident's
afternoon activity.

balanced 3 eggs on the plate, so each of us took 1 egg to eat.
we had egg sandwich and mayonese for lunch after that, they went to
do bedside exercise to one of the resident's. after that they went back to
their own room to rest, i went to have lunch.
afternoon Bingo, then students from St Anthony Cannossa Convent came
to help the resident's with their bingo game.

after Bingo, went back to the gym to write resident's report
write finish everything, we left the physio gym @ 5pm.
wait for Catherine outside her room, got some sofra chairs so i wait there.
because she going out. we took the same bus to jurong point and i went home
after that.

Normal Monday

long time never blog sorry............
nothing must to blog.
sunday went for church service
after that went Safra Club for lunch
Is called Eatzi like jacks restaurant
another outlet.
I had Crumbled Fillet with lychee sauce and
my sis and my dad had chicken with wipped potato.
after lunch, went to CP ( Causeway Point)
to buy thumbdrive for my work and personal use.
bought finish, went home and vacuum the house.
2 day normal work day no change at all.
came home and bath and watch '' Ah Wang.'' Show on
Ch 8. had dinner and now blogging.

FRIDAY IS COOL

friday is cool.
but sat need to work.
finish work come back early can rest.
1 day off not enough.
sunday do housechores , 1 day gone and
mon go back work.
some people dun like to work monday
coz monday blues.
usually after sunday, we are tired , but no time to take a rest.
after housechores, sometimes i will go cycling if iam free
if raining, i will stay home and take my afternoon rest.
everyday 6:30am wake up, i make my own breakfast then
take morning shower. by the time, i finish everything already 6;40am.
take my milo and i go off to work.
sometime my father fetch me to work.
if i sleep late, i wake up late.
usally after work, take my bath, have dinner, check email,
brush teeth and sleep. sometime tired so rest early.

Easter Hat Parade

today we had the easter hat parade.
all the resident's are wearing their colourful and beautiful hats.
the physio staff, Sr Carsaroti and the holy cross volunteers
also wear the easter hat.
after the opening prayer, we do dance number
by the resident's and the the physio staff....
the resident's did their psychomotoric exercise.
after the 3 dance,the holy cross church volunteers
and sister gave out awards to the best hat and with a smile
on their face.
physio staff also got presents because we did the dance with them.
we finished at 3:30pm and we push some of the resident's to their dining area
for their dinner. went back physio gym to put the ot things on the table.
finished everything, went to the physio office to help my work collegues to
keep the resident's file in the drawer.
i punched out my workcard @ 5pm,

Elder Care On Dementia

today no work for me and my work collegue because we going for seminar at SSTI which is located at Ghim Moh. I reached my workplace at 7:35am. i have to be there between 8am 8:15am. 2day only Catherine and Aunty Lucy handle the physio today. and they are a bit busy but we will be back 2morow morning. Ginell the physiotherapist help Catherine to push some of the resident's to the gym for their exercise.

We wait for Sr Veronica & Sr Mary Wong at the guard house. Aunty Rose the Pastoral Care Staff and Auntie Agnes from the admin office will go by themselve. Only me, Ginell, Sr Veronica and Sr Mary Wong took the van from Saint Joseph's Home. Uncle Ah Wu sent us to training center.
we reached at 9am and we took the lift to 4th floor and we went to one small classroom and we sat down.

We had Ice Breaker First followed by Role Playing Games, then listen to the trainer talk.
abt 11am, they gave us 15 min break. afte that we went back to the room. We had lunch at the nearby food centre. after lunch we went back , then listen to them talk then break again.
we ended the seminar at 5:10pm, Aunty Rose and Aunty Agnes went back on their home.
i took the train with them to jurong east mrt then took the centre train back to marsiling mrt.
reached home at 6pm.

SCDF To the rescue

I did not went for church service todae because my elder sister and our nephew want to have breakfast with us. so we went to pick them up and we went IMM for breakfast. we went swensen restaurant to check any breakfast offers but they say dun hav. so we went to LA Cartel that we went the last time. we found a corner seat and we sat down.
I ordered using the order list, I had Pancake Delight, my dad had ultimate delight, my elder sister had the same breakfast with my dad and my mother had waffles delight.

There is free flow of bread on the table, if don't have bread must wait for 10-15 mins. so we got the first batch of bread. it comes with your own butter and olive oil. so we eat the bread first and we wait for our breakfast set to come.

when we want to finish our breakfast, i smell something burning. so we finish our tea and coffee and my elder sister went to pay and we walk out of the restaurant first and we saw SCDF running towards the end, then we noe something is burning from outside. so we quickly walk away. i think the aircon overloaded that is why got this burning smell.
My elder sister went to City Chain to change her watch battery, after that we went to 1 toy shop to see some of the toys for him to bite but all expensive.

on the way back, my elder sister want to buy lei char fun ( Rice with veggie and green tea paste soup) at boonlay market, my mother ask me to put him on my lap until she come back. when i put him on my lap. i hold him by putting my hand under his hand. he love to sit on people lap.
so after buying we sent them home and change his diapers. after that we came home, take a nap and i do house chores. finished then bath and chatting with frens on MSN.

Back from SJH Outing

My father drove me to my workplace and i went straight to the staff dining lounge to meet my other work collegues who are having their breakfast there. after breakfast, one of my work collegue packed a few loaves of bread with peanut butter in case lunch donnoe what to eat at least got bread. we pushed some of the resident's who have finished their breakfast, volunteers from Nat Steel came to help us and take the resident's to the zoo.

we take 10 resident's, some resident's transfered from their wheelchair to the van chair. the van driver help us to bring the resident's up to the van. me and my 2 other work collegue are inside the van, then we wait for one more nurse to go with us so that she can look after them at the same time. we left the home at 8:45am and we reached there @ 9:15am and we bring the resident's down from the van.

we all go in by the entrance door and we start pushing them as we walk, stop for a while because they want to see the animals there, about 10:45am we went to watch the animal show , the show starts at 11am and it ended at 11:25am. after the show, went for lunch at the restaurant. finished lunch, we bring them back to the drop off point where we first arrived there. we transfered some of the resident's onto the seat and help them put on their seatbealt.
we waved goodbye to the volunteers who have help us.

we reached the home at 12:50pm, bring them back to their room and i help my other work collegue to keep the travelling wheelchair into the storeroom. after that, one of my work collegue went back to her room which is at the 3rd floor. i went back to my other work collegue room to rest a while, i suppost to rest a while, but i slept on their sofra. i slept at 1:25pm and i woke up at 3pm, i check my watch is still early so went back to sleep again. 2day no afternoon activities for the resident's. bought 100- plus for my work collegue and i drank milo from the staff dining lounge. i went home at 5pm.

Day Out with SJH resident's To singapore Zoo

2morow we will be goin out with the resident's of SJH. Those resident's who can eat by themselves and only 1 feeding resident must look after him. i will enjoy this outing with the resident's and staff. i have to be there be4 8am and must bring your own water bottle.
hope they will bring insect repellant, for the staff and for the resident's to prevent any mosquitoes or insect bites.

we will be going from 9am to 1pm. i tell u more about the zoo outing 2morow nite.
going out with the resident's makes u happy because u can talk to them and many more.
by talking to them u can learn about their past and present, their childen and life staying in a
elderly home. they love to talk to us and always leave a smile on their face.

we are bringing them to the zoo to visit how the different animals live. they can learn more about their living environment, what they eat for their meals and many more.

late lunch

we had late lunch at 1pm because got long meeting.
we talk about postrure control how it it affect us and the resident's
in the home. mon, wed and 2morow continue again. eat early lunch.
we will eat instant noodle with other ingredients inside.
finished lunch went back to the gym to take a quick rest.
the resident's had their afternoon activity.
those can understand chinese, they watch chinese opera show,
those resident's cannot understand chinese, they do cognitive activity
in the ot room.
afternoon activity finished, tidy up the place and they write the resident's file.
then i do my assignment. me and my other work collegues have to do this
assignment called: name of the resident and how they fall. 2nite must finish or
else will get scolding.

Short Meeting

work as usual.
then after the resident's morning exercise,
tidy up and Sr Geraldine want to talk to the physio gals.
she talk to us for 5-15 mins.
finished then we went for lunch, finished lunch take our rest.
afternoon bingo and mahjong.
after the activity, went back to the physio gym and prepare the ot things for 2morow OT exercise.

they write all the resident's file whether he/she got come and do what exercise.
finished, off the physio office lights and aircon.
punch out my work card and i walk out of the home.
was raining, lucky i bring along my umbrella.

Time Flies so fast

time really flies so fast. 1 week gone and next monday i need to attend some seminar at SSTI which is located at Ghim Moh but the mrt station is Buorna Vista. have to walk a bit to reach our destination. today work as usual.
i won't be blogging long because i going my elder sister house to stay 2nite until 2morow after work then i go back.

i will be having dinner then pack my work uniform into 1 small bag. tired because this morning jus came home after sending my mum's fren to airport.

Canadian Pizza 2 for 1

I had a full lunch today that includes rice with potatoes and onion inside with the sauce followed by a bowl of green bean soup dessert made by my mother. then my 2nd sister and her fren just woke up so my father suggest if they want to eat pizza , so we call canadian pizza for lunc. after ordering, have to wait 45 mins before they come.

i had 1 slice of chicen pizza, mushroom soup and coke. i was too full to eat another slize. i dirnk half of my coke coz iam still full after eating so much. later then i finish my coke.
went to church, came home and play my psp for a while.
now i rest a while then take my short nap. after that i will vacuum the house and iron
my work unifrom and my pants for 2morow.

Great Saturday

my father drove me to work yesterday morning. start work immediately, the resident's did their daily exercise in the gym. finish everything and we had beehoon and noodles for lunch. so unlucky day i want to treat my work collegues for a drink but the vending machine sold out two of their fav drinks.
one is 1oo-plus and the other is coke. so no choice no need to buy.

after lunch we had our afternoon activity with the resident's. finish the activity, we tidy up the place and i arrange the ot things on the table for monday exercise. my other work collegue is till in the physio office doin the resident's 3 mth review and she will write in their files. Me and Catherine went off first. after i punch out my work card. i went home straight.

came home, shower and went out again to fetch my elder sister with our nephew at commonwealth mrt station and went for dinner. after dinner sent my elder sister with our nephew home back to their house. stay their their house for a while then watch live EPL match.
liverpool vs arsenal at emirates stadium. thye drew 1-1. gunners title hopes is in deep trouble after the draw in their home ground. 2nite man u vs boro. we will win and get all 3 points and stay clear at the top of the epl table. take care

Heavy Downpour

Went to work as normal.
the resident's had their daily morning exercise at the gym.
finish everything.
then about 11:20am, we got meeting with our supervisior
every 3 month we will review all the resident's to see
whether this resident got come or not.
after meeting, we had lunch, finished lunch
rest a while, then got some people checking the computer inside the ot room.
so i went to the treatment room, got one massage chair so i took my rest there.
had our afternoon activity.
today they did '' decorated butterfly'' with colourful sequins.
finish all the activity, tidy up the place.
while my work collegue is doin some work on the com,
she need my help halfway so i help her.
then my other work collegues say
'' so clever''. then auntie lucy said that '' where u learn computer''
i replied '' from pri sch got learn a bit.''.
went home after that and was raining heavily.
although i got umbrella still my sweater was wet but now dry
already.
